At the end an overview of companies that are engaged in machining these materials.
Cemented carbides and theirs effective use
Baran, Jan ; Prokop, Jaroslav (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
The diploma work deals with comparison of sintered carbides in product assortment of Pramet Tools a.s., Sandvik-Coromant and Ceratizit companies in term of their cutting speed, feed and depth of cut for the turning operation. The comparison of cutting parameters is made for P, M, K, N, S and H groups. For better comparison there are always two sintered carbides from each of the manufacturers mentioned for each of the groups P, M, K. They are mentioned for groups N, S and H only if they are suggested by the manufacturer.
Production of gear wheels with using dividing head
Cicha, Tereza ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
The aim of this work is to characterize the production of gear wheels with using dividing head and also to produce the gear wheel by this method. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis contains an overview of the machining methods for the production of gears and their characteristics. Theoretical chapters also contain a detailed description of the the production of gear wheels with using dividing head and materials used for the production of single gear tooth cutters. The aim of the practical part is to design, calculate and produce the gear wheel with using dividing head. The conclusion of the thesis is the overall summary and evaluation of the calculated data.
Influence of coatings on durability of cutting inserts during longitudinal turning
Balíček, Martin ; Sámelová, Vendula (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the influence of deposited coatings for durability and tool wear during longitudinal turning of steel CSN 41 1600 (E335) and influence of wear and surface quality. The theoretical part is focused on characteristics of turning technology, application, manufacturing and methods of coating cemented carbide and tool wear. The experimental part of the thesis includes the evaluation of the measured values, a description of the material, used tools and machine tool. The values measured in the experiment imply that the most suitable of the tested tool inserts is WNMG 3-1-NF with applied coating TiAlN + TiN. Surface quality decreases with increasing wear of the tool.
Testing of cutting parameters for UMCo50 machining
Jakubec, Thomas ; Kolomý, Štěpán (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the machinability of materials, the theoretical part describes the factors that have a dominant influence on machinability. The basic aspects according to which the machinability of the material and the wear of the tool are determined are also given here. The distribution of cobalt alloys is given here, including the UMCo-50 alloy, which is the subject of experimental research. It is an alloy for high-temperature use with good abrasion resistance and is used especially where other materials lose their mechanical properties due to the high temperature. The practical part followed the thesis of my colleague Ing. Peter Prno [1], which due to lack of time could not measure all the necessary quantities, resp. course of back wear for the remaining two cutting speeds. During the experiment, the wear of the tool back was monitored as a function of time at different cutting speeds in turning technology. The main goal was to determine the resulting tool life at the remaining cutting speeds and thus obtain a more accurate Taylor dependence. The turning forces, the quality of the machined surface and the formation of chips were also monitored during turning.
Technological applications of cemented carbide tools
Brlica, Vlastimil ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Prokop, Jaroslav (advisor)
The fully fashioned bachelor’s thesis within the frame of the bachelor‘s study B2339-00 at the Fakulty of mechanical engineering deals with subject cemented carbide tools. General infomation is characterized by literary production; e.g. division, characteristics and manufacturing. The particular examples of cutting conditions are worked up in the second part of this study followed by calculation of economic aspects in the proces of tooling. The information about materials, cutting conditions and prices of exchange cutter bit from cemented carbide are drawn from catalogues of Sandvik – Coromant company.
Turning of main steels
Svoboda, Kryštof ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
The main theme of the thesis deals with turning of main steels. The basic quantities, force load during turning and geometry of knife with splinter shape are explained in introduction part. Followed by brief overview of instrumental materials. For main steels there is perform an analysis of mechanical and physical properities, alloying elements and their application. In final part there is selection of several replaceable cutting inserts suitable for main steels.
Production of gears by hobbing
Ivánek, Radim ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
The aim of this study is to compare the manufacturing costs and times of a gear hobbing process. The theoretical part of the thesis is aimed to describe the gears hobbing manufacturing process, their characteristics and this way used processing materials. The practical part of the thesis is comparing the manufacturing gear hobbing costs and machining times using high-speed steel tools to sintered carbides tools in line manufacturing. This study evaluates and rationalizes all the found and calculated data.
The durability of cutting inserts during face milling
Spáčil, Radek ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the wear of cutting tools in the form of cutting inserts during face milling. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a form of search which describes milling technology and also includes progressive milling method HFC. The next chapter describes the types of using cutting materials with greater emphasis on sintered carbides. The third chapter deals with the basic methods of coating. The experimental part of bachelor thesis gives a description of used material, tool, machine, and the experimental progress. The aim of the experiment was to compare the durability and to compile the action of forces for cutting inserts. The experiment has shown that the cutting force increases as wear level increases.
Cemented carbides
Vaněk, Mojmír ; Dvořáček, Jan (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is a characteristic of uncoated and coated cemented carbides in terms of marking, structure, physical and mechanical properties. There is an overview of production methods of uncoated, coated cemented carbides and functionally graded hardmetals in the thesis. At the end there is an overview of the range of production of the most significant tool material producers including descriptions and areas of use of this materials.
